In the second half of September, a gradual shift in the prices of slaughter condition pigs continued. According to the results of weekly monitoring of live weight pork prices, conducted by analysts of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders the average market price has stopped at 45.5 UAH/kg this week, which is 1.5% lower than the previous one.

For the majority of suppliers of live pigs, the selling prices fell by 0.25-1.25 UAH/kg last Friday. As a result, the price range has narrowed slightly this week and dropped compared to the previous week: for example, a kilo of pork (live weight) was bought at 44.5-46 UAH/kg this week. Occasionally, there were price offers that exceeded the maximum mentioned above, but only due to the local imbalance of supply-demand for conditioned pork.

Manufacturers reported that the production volumes have not yet fully recovered with the autumn coming. Demand for the commercial stock from meat processors remains relatively stable; livestock sales proceeded this week in planned volumes and without revision of pre-conditioned prices.
