Over the past week, 329 samples were tested in laboratories. Four tested positive for ASF, while 325 were negative. The positivity rate was therefore 1.2%.
Two of the new cases were detected in the province of Barcelona, in the municipalities of Molins de Rei and Esplugues de Llobregat. Despite the new findings, the boundaries of the high-risk zone have not been expanded and it continues to include 19 municipalities.
Since 28 November last year, when the first case was recorded, a total of 11,029 wild boar have been tested in Catalonia. Of these, 379 tested positive and 10,650 tested negative.
Restrictions on access to natural areas remain in force in the municipalities included in the high-risk zone.
Authorities are urging residents to comply with the restrictions and signage, avoid feeding wild boar, dispose of waste only in closed containers, and contact the emergency services if they find dead animals or wild boar showing suspicious symptoms.
