Participants included representatives of local government bodies, village and settlement heads, professionals working in the social and education sectors, civil society organisations, and other specialists who work directly with local residents.
During the training, participants discussed the causes of antimicrobial resistance, the risks associated with the improper use of antibiotics in households, and the role of communities in disseminating reliable information about responsible animal treatment. The practical component included the analysis of real-life situations, interactive exercises, and communication skills training for engaging with different audiences.
The training sessions were held under the “Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control” (EpiC) project, funded by the U.S. Department of State, with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.
The next training sessions for representatives of territorial communities will take place in Ivano-Frankivsk on July 28–29 and in Chernivtsi on July 30–31. Participants will also develop practical skills in risk communication and community outreach regarding the responsible use of antibiotics.
Participation in the training is free of charge, but the number of places is limited.
