The course covers key aspects of modern approaches to pig welfare — from basic principles and legislative requirements to practical solutions for production facilities. The program will be useful for farm owners, managers, veterinarians, technologists, and all specialists involved in pig farm production processes.
Particular attention is paid to the practical component of the training. In particular, the first module introduces participants to the concept of the “Five Freedoms,” explains behavioural indicators of animal condition, and outlines the logic of welfare assessments during farm inspections. The program also includes elements of a simulated audit, allowing participants to go through a mock inspection and see the evaluation process “through the eyes of an inspector.”
Separate modules focus on feeding, microclimate, space organization, animal health, behavioural needs, and preparing farms for the implementation of new standards. The materials are structured in a way that enables participants not only to understand the requirements but also to adapt them to their own production practices.
The training is delivered in a convenient online format — the course is available at any time, allowing participants to complete it at their own pace without interrupting their work. After completing all assignments, participants receive a certificate.
