Brazil’s pork exports reached an all-time high in September 2025, totaling 151,600 tons, up 25.9% from the same month last year (120,400 tons). Export revenues also hit a record USD 368.4 million, marking a 29.9% increase compared to September 2024 (USD 283.7 million).

From January to September 2025, Brazil exported 1.121 million tons of pork, a 13.2% rise year-on-year, while export earnings climbed 24.6% to USD 2.702 billion, up from USD 2.169 billion in 2024.

Major Export Destinations

The Philippines remained Brazil’s largest pork buyer, importing 49,000 tons, a 73.9% year-on-year increase. Other top markets included:

  • China – 13,600 tons (–18.2%)
  • Japan – 11,400 tons (+32.4%)
  • Vietnam – 9,600 tons (+39.8%)
  • Mexico – 9,600 tons (+55.8%)
  • Chile – 8,300 tons (–13.7%)
  • Hong Kong – 8,200 tons (–5.3%)
  • Singapore – 5,600 tons (+2.2%)
  • Argentina – 4,200 tons (+82.2%)
  • Georgia – 4,000 tons (+120%)

Ricardo Santin, President of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), emphasized that while the Philippines drives much of the growth, several other strategic markets are also expanding rapidly.

“Brazilian pork continues to grow steadily across key markets. Demand remains strong, and 2025 is likely to close with another historic record,” Santin said.

Santa Catarina Leads Exports

The state of Santa Catarina remains Brazil’s top pork exporter, shipping 72,700 tons in September (+17.4% year-on-year). It was followed by Rio Grande do Sul (35,700 tons, +39.6%), Paraná (25,300 tons, +35.5%), Minas Gerais (2,900 tons, –10.6%), and Mato Grosso (3,900 tons, +19.1%).

Santa Catarina achieved its highest-ever meat export revenue in September — USD 438.1 million, including USD 181.6 million from pork exports.

Between January and September, the state exported 562,200 tons of pork, generating USD 1.39 billion in revenue — up 6.6% in volume and 14% in value compared to 2024.

Its main export destinations were Japan, the Philippines, China, Chile, and Mexico. Santa Catarina now accounts for over 51% of Brazil’s total pork exports and 52% of total export revenue from the sector.
