A free online training session, “Responsible Use of Antibiotics in Commercial Livestock Production,” will take place on 12 August. The event will continue the series of regional training sessions held across different regions of Ukraine between April and August under the EpiC project. Those who were unable to attend one of the in-person sessions can now gain the key knowledge online.

The online training programme consists of two thematic sessions. During the first session, participants will learn about recent changes in veterinary legislation governing antibiotic use, the current requirements for market operators and measures to prevent the development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The speaker will be Vitalii Bashynskyi, an international expert in animal health, veterinary medicine and food safety.

The second session will focus on modern approaches to preventing and treating the most common bacterial infections in pig production. Animal health experts Vitalii Piotrovych and Olha Bekh will share practical recommendations.

The online training is organised under the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project, funded by the U.S. Department of State, with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.

Participation is free of charge.

The training will be held via Zoom.
