Initial shipments open new opportunities for export growth in one of the key markets.

The first shipments of French pork offal have arrived in China, marking the result of three years of negotiations between French and Chinese authorities and opening new prospects for the export of value-added products.

The French pig sector, with the support of industry organisations INAPORC and Culture Viande, has obtained the necessary approvals to export products such as stomachs and intestines to China. This allows France to expand its presence in one of the most important export markets.

The opening of the offal segment is expected to boost exports to China by around 10%, despite challenging market conditions, including the impact of anti-dumping duties.

In 2025, France exported approximately 104,000 tonnes of pork products to China, generating about €200 million in revenue, although export volumes declined by nearly 10% compared to the previous year.

Industry representatives expect that the opening of the offal market and a potential easing of trade restrictions in 2026 will help restore positive export dynamics.

Overall, the entry of French offal into the Chinese market strengthens the country’s position in the global pork trade and creates additional opportunities to increase export revenues.
