On June 16–17, Lviv hosted the second series of practical training sessions for representatives of pig farms and cattle producers as part of the international EpiC project, implemented with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders. The training focused on the implementation of new veterinary requirements and the responsible use of antibiotics in livestock production.

The sessions were a continuation of the first training phase and were designed to support the practical application of knowledge directly on farms. Participants discussed the results of their homework assignments, reviewed practices implemented at their enterprises, and examined issues related to record-keeping and traceability of veterinary medicinal product use.

Dedicated sessions focused on disease prevention as a key tool for reducing antibiotic use. Experts highlighted the importance of biosecurity, vaccination programs, animal housing conditions, and health monitoring systems.

The practical component of the training involved group work on disease outbreak scenarios at livestock farms. Participants developed response plans, treatment record systems, and preventive action strategies, followed by discussions on the most effective approaches to animal health management.

The EpiC training series will continue in other regions of Ukraine, bringing together businesses, local communities, and public institutions to promote the principles of responsible antimicrobial use.

Participation in the training is free of charge; however, the number of places is limited. Prior registration is required.
