In 2025, Denmark expanded its pork exports, maintaining its position as one of the key suppliers on the global market. Total shipments, including by-products, reached approximately 1.35 million tonnes, which is 7% higher than the previous year.

According to the Agricultural Market Information Company (AMI), significant shifts occurred in the structure of key export markets. Poland became the leading destination, importing 207,000 tonnes (+23%). China ranked second with around 200,000 tonnes (+3%), while Germany, also at approximately 200,000 tonnes, dropped to third place, remaining at the previous year’s level.

Exports to the Philippines recorded substantial growth (+41%), while shipments to Japan declined significantly (-35%).

More than half of Denmark’s exports continued to be directed to the EU market. In 2025, deliveries to EU-27 countries increased to about 716,000 tonnes, while exports to third countries reached approximately 638,000 tonnes.

Analysts note that due to its high dependence on external markets, Denmark remains in strong competition with other EU suppliers. Exports of live pigs, particularly to Poland and Germany, also play an important role in the overall export structure.
