First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko after a visit to Chernihiv with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that the funds will be distributed in four main areas:

  • defense aid;
  • critical humanitarian needs;
  • budgetary support;
  • post-war reconstruction, in particular the reconstruction of cities and towns destroyed by Russian aggression.

"Norway has been supporting us since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression - arms supply, humanitarian aid, sanctions against Russia, treatment of our severely wounded military personnel. In terms of quantitative indicators of such support, including arms supplies, Norway is second only to the United States and Great Britain. Now the government of the country has decided to provide Ukraine with a new unprecedented package of aid worth over 1 billion euros (10 billion Norwegian kroner)", Yulia Sviridenko said.

It should be noted that only in Chernihiv region as a result of hostilities more than 5000 objects were destroyed and damaged, 95% of which are not military, but civilian and residential buildings.

"We will rebuild everything that was destroyed by the Russian occupiers - people will have new houses, the repaired hospitals will again provide care, and little Ukrainians will study in restored schools and kindergartens," Sviridenko stressed.
