Trainings on responsible antibiotic use for communities to take place in Lutsk

On June 11–12, Lutsk will host the next series of training sessions for representatives of territorial communities as part of the international EpiC project, implemented with the participation of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders (AUPB). The training will focus on the responsible use of antibiotics in animal production and combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The main focus of this training round will be risk communication and practical guidance for animal owners. Participants will learn how to clearly explain the risks associated with improper antibiotic use, why consulting veterinarians is essential, and how communities can help prevent the spread of antimicrobial resistance at the local level. The programme will address common mistakes made by animal owners during treatment and provide practical communication tools for engaging with local residents.

The training is intended for representatives of territorial communities, village and town elders, professionals from the social and education sectors, local NGOs, and anyone working directly with community members who can influence the adoption of responsible practices at the local level.
