Purchase prices have stayed relatively unchanged for the fourth consecutive week. In the West, prices hover around 97–97.5 UAH/kg, in the Central regions they mostly range between 97–100 UAH/kg, and in the East, the highest price levels are recorded at 100–103 UAH/kg. The weighted average purchase price remains at 97.8 UAH/kg, the same as the previous week.
Although some suppliers express a desire to lower prices, citing sluggish trade, there are no other significant reasons for such changes, as before. At the same time, feedback on the available supply of market-ready pigs varies considerably: while some believe it meets current demand, some processors report that they were unable to procure pigs in the desired volumes. Additionally, there are occasional reports that prices for larger pigs (160+ kg) remain steadily in the range of 110–120+ UAH/kg.
Currently, imports do not put pressure on purchase prices, as such products are mostly used by operators to form frozen reserves. Given this, most market participants are unanimous in expecting continued price stability, as there are currently no factors that could cause fluctuations, and market forces remain balanced.
